About my therapy practice
Hi! I am a psychodynamic psychotherapist specialising in working with adolescents and young adults (14- 24 years).
Originally I specialised in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy. Since 2016 I have worked as a therapist in schools throughout London and Hertfordshire.
My approach is primarily psychodynamic. This means allowing the client to bring whatever content they wish to share whilst I try to respond to the underlying anxieties and conflicts being expressed.
I integrate psychodynamic, person-centred, attachment and mentalization theory to inform the work enabling connections to be made between the client's past and present states of mind and to enhance their understanding of themselves.
My strength is in my capacity to build relationships in which you will feel supported and understood even when things are at their most difficult. Adolescence and young adulthood can be a turbulent time but also a time of growth and possibility.
Consistent weekly sessions create a sense of continuity, of being held, and of having parameters within which to build trust, explore relationships, and communicate.
